Black River & Western 60 is a 2-8-0 consolidation type steam locomotive


  1. 60 was built by the American Locomotive companey in 1937. She first operated on The Great Western Railroad of Colorado where she hauled sugar beats. She was purchased by the Black River & Western Railroad in 1961 where she hauled excursions until late 2000. She is currently undergoing a 15 year FRA inspecion. During this time she went under test fires several times. In August of 2012 she moved under her own power for the first time in twelve years. She is schedualed to return to service in late 2012.
